# Deal pipeline

> Track every investor conversation from first contact to closed deal

The **Deal Pipeline** is your fundraising CRM: add the investors you're talking to, move them through stages as conversations progress, and log every call, email and meeting along the way. Open it from the left sidebar or go straight to `/dashboard/pipeline`.

## Adding investors

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the add dialog">
    Click **Add Investor**. You can search Caplia's investor directory by name or firm, or click **+ Add Investor Manually** to enter someone yourself.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in the details">
    For manual entries, add a **Name** (required), plus **Firm**, **Email**, **LinkedIn URL** and **Notes** if you have them.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a starting stage">
    Pick an **Initial Stage** of **Cold**, **Warm** or **Hot**, then click **Add to Pipeline**. Investors added from the directory start at Cold.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Caplia checks for duplicates, so adding the same investor twice simply points you to the existing entry. On paid plans you can also click **Find Investors** to browse the directory and add matches directly.

## Pipeline stages

Drag investors between columns on the board, or change the stage from an investor's card. Closed deals sit in a collapsible **Closed Deals** section below the board.

| Stage           | Use it when                                            |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Cold**        | You haven't made contact yet                           |
| **Warm** | The conversation has started |
| **Hot**         | There's genuine interest and momentum                  |
| **Term Sheet** | Terms are on the table |
| **Closed Won** | The investment is committed |
| **Closed Lost** | The deal didn't happen (you'll be asked to record why) |

Switch between **Kanban**, **List**, **Calendar**, **Reminders** and **Activity** views using the tabs above the board. The cards at the top of the page keep a running count of **Total Investors**, **Conversations**, **Active Deals**, **Pipeline Value** and **Terms Value**.

## Ticket size

When an investor reaches the Hot or Term Sheet stage, Caplia prompts you for their expected **Investment Ticket Size**: the amount and currency they're likely to invest. You can skip it and add or edit it later from the investor's card. Ticket sizes power the Pipeline Value and Terms Value figures, and the ticket sizes of investors at Hot, Term Sheet or Closed Won also feed the Raised figure on an active funding round in your [Cap Table](/founder-portal/cap-table).

## Logging interactions

Keep a record of every touchpoint so you always know where a conversation stands.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open an investor">
    Click an investor's card to open their detail view, with **Overview**, **Activity**, **Reminders** and **Actions** tabs.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Log the activity">
    Use **Log Activity** and choose an **Activity Type**: Email Sent, Email Received, Application Submitted, LinkedIn Connection, LinkedIn Message, Phone Call, Meeting, Pitch Deck Sent, Follow-up or Other.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the detail">
    Set the date, an optional duration for calls and meetings, and a **Subject** and **Notes** for context. Tick **Set follow-up reminder** to schedule your next step in the same go.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Every stage change, logged interaction and reminder appears in the **Activity** view, giving you a single timeline across your whole pipeline.

## Reminders

Set a reminder from any investor's card so no conversation goes quiet.

* Choose a **Reminder Type**, a **Due Date** and an optional time and duration.
* Make it repeat with **Recurrence (Optional)**: one-time, every 3 days, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.
* The **Reminders** view gathers everything due, with a badge showing overdue items. Mark reminders done, snooze them for a few days, or edit them as plans change.
* Click **Subscribe to Calendar** to add your pipeline reminders to your own calendar app.

Investor cards also flag follow-up status for you, from recently contacted through to overdue, so a quick scan of the board shows who needs attention next.
