How to Use Caplia's Founder Tools (2:03 video)

Watch: How to Use Caplia’s Founder Tools (2:03 video) shows what each tool under Founder Tools is for and when to use it. Founder Tools are the extras that help you raise. Click Founder Tools in the left sidebar to see every tool as a card at /dashboard/founder-tools, or expand it to pick a tool from the list beneath it. On a phone, tap More at the bottom of the screen, then Founder Tools. The list also holds the CRI, covered in Caplia Readiness Index, and Psychometrics, covered in Psychometric testing.
Investor Database, Pitch Coaching and Caplia Tap need Caplia Raise or the trial. On Caplia Core they show an upgrade prompt instead. Pitch Coaching and Caplia Tap also only appear once they are switched on for your account. See Billing and subscriptions.

Investor Database

Investor Database opens the Investor Directory at /dashboard/investor-directory. Search by name, firm, thesis or portfolio, and filter by Stage, Geography and Focus Area. The Match column shows how well each investor fits your company, and View opens the detail, including why they are a match, their investment thesis, notable investments, check size and how to apply. Click Add to track an investor in your deal pipeline. They start at the Cold stage, and investors you already track show In Pipeline instead.

Investor Update

Investor Update opens the Investor Engagement page at /dashboard/investor-engagement. Pick a quarter and record your highlights for it as the quarter goes on. When you are ready, click Generate Update. Caplia drafts an update from your highlights in the writing style you choose, and you can edit the draft before you click Save Update. A saved update shows as a draft until you share it: Share Update lets you email it to shareholders on your cap table, investors who have access to your company and anyone else you add, and save a PDF copy to your data room.

Pitch Coaching

Pitch Coaching, at /dashboard/pitch-practice, lets you practise your pitch out loud with Iris. Connect your microphone and Iris plays an investor: she listens, interrupts and challenges you with investor-style questions, then scores you against investor expectations and shows the gaps to work on. Choose how to practise: Open practice is the full 15-minute pitch to a tough generalist investor, A specific investor has Iris research a firm by name or website and question you the way they would, and Rapid-fire drill skips the pitch for ten hard questions, one minute each, aimed at your weakest areas. Use it before a big meeting.

Caplia Tap

Caplia Tap, at /dashboard/caplia-tap, puts your Passport on a physical NFC card for events and meetings. Order your card on the page, then type the 6-character code printed on the front of the card and click Activate. From then on, one tap opens your Caplia Passport. Two switches on the page control what people who tap your card get: whether they are asked for their email before your Passport opens, and whether they can download your pitch deck.

WhatsApp Iris

WhatsApp Iris, at /account/whatsapp, links a phone number so you can ask Iris about your company on WhatsApp without logging in, and get alerts when investors view your profile. Only link numbers you trust. See Iris on WhatsApp.
